MISSIONS & OUTREACH

We have been transformed by the love and power of Jesus. Therefore, we want other people to know Christ and experience the same transformation. CrossPoint is committed to making Christ known by crossing geographical and cultural borders, reaching out to the poor and marginalized, and developing new opportunities to reach people.

One of our key values here at CrossPoint is to have both local and global impact in our world. We love the privilege of putting our faith into action by serving the poor and disenfranchised. These acts of service to people are ultimately acts of worship and service to Jesus himself who tells us that “when you did it to one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you were doing it to me.” (Matthew 25:40) Everyone is involved – we’re either going or sending (praying, donating money, goods and/or services)! Both are vitally important for the success of these ministries and for the health and vitality of CrossPoint Church!

LOCALLY

Affordable Food Ministry This ministry helps provide basic groceries for a family of four for about $10 per week. Once a week on a Thursday afternoon, the team works to put Food Boxes together. We serve 20-30 families per week. If you would like to contribute to this ministry, please Click Here. CrossPoint Community Outreach This ministry provides gently used clothing, backpacks and school supplies to children at several schools here in the Temecula-Murrieta valley. They currently hold two significant events each year and are working diligently to secure a permanent location from which they will be able to be open year round. Wounded Warriors We have hosted events to raise funds to support families whose spouses and father’s are deployed and often have been wounded or killed in action.

GLOBALLY

International Church Planting we have sent teams to Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, and India to work with local pastors to plant new churches. We have partnered together with these brothers and sisters to reach thousands of new believers and plant 23 new house and/or village churches.

Walk-A- Mile-In-My-Shoes the goal of this organization is to work with local Kenyan leaders and organizations to secure housing, education, food, clothing, and medical attention to many of the children who are orphaned and wander the streets. These children become addicted to industrial glue to numb the pain of hunger, weather, and loneliness. We are working with local ministries on the ground in Kenya to expand their capacity to take in more children. Teams travel to Kenya each year to identify new children to be placed and to work alongside these ministries to help create more space.

Walk-A-Mile In-My-Shoes will be making their next trip to Kenya in the Spring of 2012. We are gathering a team of 10-15 people to go on this trip to help build and teach the boys trades that will impact their future. If you would like to donate to this trip and/or a specific person that will be going on this missions trip, please Click Here. In the text box provided, please indicate the name of the person that you are making a donation for. You will receive a contribution statement at the end of the year from our Finance Team noting your donation. If you have any questions about this process, please contact Courtney Lyon at courtney@gotocrosspoint.com

Power Ministries For men only! We travel to the Texas/Mexico border to work with local pastors and relief organizations. We work with men from all over the United States to build houses, new churches, furniture etc. We also work amongst the poorest of the poor to provide much needed food, clothing and relief.

Men, we will be making the next trip with this organization in January of 2012. If you would like to make a donation for this trip and/or sponsor one of our men who is going on this trip, please Click Here. Please indicate the name of the person that you are sponsoring in the box indicated to right of the payment.

Faith’s House The AIDS crisis is ravaging families in certain regions in Africa. We raised nearly $30,000 dollars in the first year of the church to provide housing and long term support for women and children in Kenya and Uganda.

Honduras A dentist here at CrossPoint travels to Honduras each year to work with a local ministry to provide much needed dental care and medical supplies. We always send him off with suitcases full of medical supplies and vitamins.
